Summer 2024: 🎥 Bled & 🇰🇷 Jeju
Now that it’s the Christmas holidays it is of course time to write about the Summer.

Apologies for the corny title; I did really enjoy it though :)
This summer I was fortunate enough to visit Slovenia—staying in Lake Bled, but also visiting Lake Bohinj, capital city Ljubljana, Radovljica, Kojsko, Dobrovo, and various other places. Naturally I took the Nikon with me and tried to be as creative as possible. This was a holiday first and foremost—not a photography focused trip—so I was more concerned with having a relaxing time rather than getting up at 4am to capture a mega sunrise. Nevertheless, I think I managed to get some lovely shots; the Nikon makes this reasonably easy!

Also made a video for a bit of fun:
🇰🇷 Jeju IWEF
After a solid 29 hours of travelling from the UK, I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Jeju IWEF (International Wind Ensemble Festival) with Foden’s Band (band photos here). As well as the festival, the island is famed for the quality of its sumo-mandarins (called Hallabong), local black-pig pork, and fresh seafood caught by Jeju's famous female deep-sea divers (haenyeo).
Although the festival was the primary reason for the trip, I 100% had to bring the camera with me. Lack of luggage space meant I had to adapt my instrument case to accommodate the camera. I was therefore limited to the Nikon Z7ii with a singular all purpose lens, the 24-70mm f/2.8.
Travelling with a group is not always conducive to ‘good’ photography—often not giving us enough time to properly compose a shot, or wait for the right light. But you make the best of it, and I think I’ve come away with some cool shots here regardless.
