Striking Gold

Macclesfield is one of those places I’ve not really explored, despite living fairly close by. A bit like Londoners that haven’t managed to go to the Science or Natural History museums. Following a disappointing trip to browse through posh overpriced furniture in the glass fronted Arighi Bianchi, and the puncture I had on possibly the busiest roundabout in the north, I’ve not been back other than to pick up DIY supplies...

Until now.

It turns out there are some gems! The Picturedrome (google maps link), enter stage left...

The Picturedrome, Macclesfield

The first cinema in Macclesfield has been turned into this bustling eatery with cracking food from a variety of vendors. I’ve not been for a breakfast yet but I certainly recommend the lamb shawarma flatbread.

I really hope you appreciate this image... I had to get a bulky camera out in a restaurant and take a photo of my food like a right twerp.

A coffee stronger than The Mountain and a rhubarb tart later and I was in gastronomic ecstasy.

New glasses too.

Nothing much else to say. Top food, top atmosphere, and reasonable-ish prices.

Knockout.
