Roll review—Nikon FE2 vs Z7ii—First time using film in 30 years

Having recently picked up an old Nikon FE2 (released 1983) on eBay, this was my first time shooting film in about 30 years! The following is a comparison of the equivalent shot from my modern mirrorless Z7ii (released 2020) taken at the same focal length (and mostly the same ISO as the film).

I edited the set of digital files before even seeing the film scans—using all our mod cons like colour B&W adjustments to act as filters—to end up with what I'd usually be happy with in B&W. The film (Ilford HP5+) was developed (using ILFOSOL 3), scanned, inverted, and had a small amount of contrast added—that’s it.

I seem to have scratched the film somewhat—probably due to debris on my squeegee. But live and learn I suppose.
